Fun times

We had the chance to meet up with our good friends (the moore's) who we lived by in Montana. I guess that is one advantage we have with moving to California. We get to go and have a blast when friends come to visit. Thanks for the fun trip to California Adventures.

Times of trial

Life around the holmes family has been pretty challenging. Our trip to Utah was a blast and since that day everything has gone down hill. We had our car break down on us in Vegas. We were stuck in the heat for about hour, mind you it was about 110 out. The water pump went out which then made the car overheat and it killed the engine. Our car is still in vegas. We ended up home from Utah about 5 hours later then planned to find our house had been overtaken by ants. They were everywhere. So I had to spend the next several days trying to kill all of the nests that they had created in our outlets. The kids have been up and down with sicknesses, and now Lexi is struggling with a mean bully at school. I tend to ask myself how much more can get thrown at me. I probably shouldn't be asking myself that. Anyway I know things could be worse and thats how I am getting through it, just to take it day by day.

Our Vacation in Utah

We had the best time. There is nothing better then being around the ones you love. We visited grandma, went to a water park, had a family surprise birthday party for me, watched a Hannah Montana concert in 3-D, and of course did a lot of shopping. Thanks for being such a wonderful family.

First day of school

Lexi was a little nervous about this day because they put her in a split 2/3 grade class. She thought maybe her other friends might laugh and make her feel like she didnt pass 2nd grade. Thankfully though they did away with her class and is now going to be in an all 3rd grade class. So until we get her all situated she is still being a little anxious.
Haeley on the other hand couldn't wait to go. Kindergarten is a place that little kids dream about during their early years, a place of happiness, excitment, learning and adventure. Haeley always has wanted to go to school, a place her sister went everyday. A place she knew contained so much adventure and fun, and this day has finally arrived.

Earthquake scare

Well I just have to say what an experience it was to feel the earth shake beneath me. We had a 5.4 earthquake here at about 11:43 this morning. I started to feel things shake and thought maybe it was just a big semi passing by, but then realized it was getting stronger. I ran over grabbed Noah and headed under the desk. They say it only lasted about 20 seconds or so but it felt longer than that. Oh well, needless to say we are all okay and now know a little better about what an earthquake really feels like. We were also on the second floor which seemed to make things a little more exciting. I explained to my girls what it was and realized we never really went over where to go or what to do. I guess this was a wake up call for us. They wanted to find a safe spot in every room of our house so we did a walk through and found a safe spot no matter what room they are in. Hopefully we are now a little more prepared on where to go and what to do if a big one hits.

Our little Monster

We had a great weekend visiting the Browns up in the Mountians. It is really kind of neat living in California. We can be in the mountains and the beach all within about an hour of our house. Anyway we went and had a little barbeque at there house. Following dinner we drove over to lake arrowhead where Melissa and I got Pedicures. The boys watched all the kids which was a well needed break (thanks Andrew). We went and did a little shopping, and listened to a live band. The kids got ice cream and we watched them dance for a bit, then at this point they were getting tired so we headed back to the Browns for some more dessert. Cameron made us homemade brownies which were delicious. This is where the story really gets interesting. Noah decided after the brownie was gone to wander without any of us paying attention to where he was heading. He managed to get into the sugar that was left out and poured it all over there kitchen floor. OOOPPPPSSS! Does anyone else want us to come and visit? I'm sure Noah can find something to get into.
