Earthquake scare

Well I just have to say what an experience it was to feel the earth shake beneath me. We had a 5.4 earthquake here at about 11:43 this morning. I started to feel things shake and thought maybe it was just a big semi passing by, but then realized it was getting stronger. I ran over grabbed Noah and headed under the desk. They say it only lasted about 20 seconds or so but it felt longer than that. Oh well, needless to say we are all okay and now know a little better about what an earthquake really feels like. We were also on the second floor which seemed to make things a little more exciting. I explained to my girls what it was and realized we never really went over where to go or what to do. I guess this was a wake up call for us. They wanted to find a safe spot in every room of our house so we did a walk through and found a safe spot no matter what room they are in. Hopefully we are now a little more prepared on where to go and what to do if a big one hits.

Our little Monster

We had a great weekend visiting the Browns up in the Mountians. It is really kind of neat living in California. We can be in the mountains and the beach all within about an hour of our house. Anyway we went and had a little barbeque at there house. Following dinner we drove over to lake arrowhead where Melissa and I got Pedicures. The boys watched all the kids which was a well needed break (thanks Andrew). We went and did a little shopping, and listened to a live band. The kids got ice cream and we watched them dance for a bit, then at this point they were getting tired so we headed back to the Browns for some more dessert. Cameron made us homemade brownies which were delicious. This is where the story really gets interesting. Noah decided after the brownie was gone to wander without any of us paying attention to where he was heading. He managed to get into the sugar that was left out and poured it all over there kitchen floor. OOOPPPPSSS! Does anyone else want us to come and visit? I'm sure Noah can find something to get into.

Another day at the beach

Well, the life of living in Cali is we get to visit the beach quite often. We decided to go and try a new location up near LA. The waves were horrible. They were crashing all the way up on shore and hard. Poor noah was just getting plowed. He seemed to enjoy it anyway. Haeley on the other hand had to stay out of the water. She has been sick the past couple of days to finally find out she has swimmers ear. She has to stay out of the water for a few days until it clears up. We let the kids play for a little bit, had dinner, and then finished with watching the sunset. I really do enjoy being at the beach.

Happy 4th of July

We did a little bit of yard work in the morning and then all decided to jump in the pool. Then later on that day things didn't really go as planned. Haeley decided that it was time to go to bed at 7:00pm. What about seeing the fireworks? Andrew then followed about 9:00. So I put Noah to bed, then Lexi and I shared some time together and did a few pop-its outside. She really is one of my best friends. Thanks for being such a great daughter, I LOVE YOU LEXI!

Noah turns 2

We had a little birthday party for Noah last night. Out of everything he got, the bee car on top of his cake was his favorite.

Preschool Graduation

Haeley had her preschool graduation a few weeks ago and did a great job. She had practiced her part and had it all memorized. When it came time for her to give her part she said half of it and then stopped. Her teacher then approached her to help her finish and Haeley refused. She kept nodding her head and saying NO! The audience was all in laughs at this point and no she never finished her part. I dont think it was because she forgot it, she was just being the stubborn girl that she is and had decided that she was done and nothing was going to change that. All in all it went really well and she can't wait to start Kindergarten next month.
